What is a Bachelors Degree

Continuing your education past a high school degree or an associate’s degree is vital to advancing your career to new heights. A bachelor’s degree is a four-year degree given from select online colleges and campus based colleges and universities. If you have already obtained an associate’s degree in liberal arts then you have most likely already completed the required general education and elective credit requirements. In that case your two year road to a bachelor’s degree will be major specific and keep your learning about what you are interested in and not school requirements.

Receiving a Bachelor’s degree normally requires 120 earned credits. This is either split into 4 years or two years. If no previous college experience exists, eight 15 credit semesters will be needed. If an associate’s degree in liberal arts has already been completed, four 15 credit semesters are required.

The Two main online bachelor’s degrees available are Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science. Bachelor of Science would include everything in the science field, for example chemistry, engineering, physics, and computer science. Bachelors of Arts include topics like communications, philosophy, English, and History. Other degrees available outside of Arts and Science include bachelor of business, bachelor of education, and bachelor of Nursing.

Earning a bachelor’s degree used to mean attending a major four-year college and being a full time student. With the recent recession, earning a bachelor’s degree has never been easier and more personalized. With the online college technology proved today earning a degree has become completely customizable. You can now pick your own schedule and the time period you want to complete school. Earning a degree and working full time at the same time is no longer difficult, online programs are based around students also working full time. You choose when you want to go to school.
