Nursing\Health Care Degree
The need for healthcare professionals has grown rapidly over the last decade as the field is constantly evolving. Those interested in a nursing career typically start with applying to a nursing school, enrolling in classes, and then earning a resident nursing degree (“RSN”) by completing the program’s requirements. Another option for students is an Associate of Nursing Science degree, which can typically take two or three years to complete. A diploma from a nursing program can certify graduates for entry-level positions as an “RN” (registered nurse), and if one wants to go further in a nursing career, they should consider taking additional classes to complete a bachelor's degree. Individuals pursuing a path in health care may consider a career in nursing. Nurses are in high demand, and being a qualified nurse will often provide a variety of options when seeking employment. Nurses tend to be directly involved with patient care more so than doctors would, and this can be a reason some people choose nursing school over medical school. There are several nursing specializations available so be sure to do research and see which program best fits your interests. Some nursing career paths include: clinical nurse specialist, cardiac nurse, hospice nurse, critical care nurse, pediatric nurse and school nurse.
